Gp Girard-perregaux Releases The 1945 Retro Small Seconds Hand And The Three Golden Bridge Tourbillon 70th Anniversary Special

Girard Perregaux Vintage 1945 series coincides with the 70th anniversary of its birth this year. The brand has once again interpreted the Art Deco elements of its classic series, introducing the Vintage 1945 small second hand and the Vintage 1945 three-gold bridge tourbillon wrist. Two limited edition collections to pay tribute to the original models and the Manufacture’s 224-year-old watchmaking history.
Vintage 1945 Small Seconds 70th Anniversary Special
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the launch of the Vintage 1945 series, Girard Perregaux has reinterpreted the original model, adding modern elements, and introduced two rose gold and stainless steel cases. The hour markers on the dial and hands are digitally copied from the 1945 style, echoing Brand traditional watchmaking process. Timing mechanism synchronized with time. Girard Perregaux uses gold and stainless steel to reinterpret the classic Vintage 1945 series, which not only continues the classic features of the original model, but also incorporates Art Deco core elements into the material. The elegant square case with large size keeps the characteristics of this series intact. Lines and curves subtly respond to the aesthetic ideas of the early 20th century. Two-way curved design reduces the load-bearing surface of the human wrist and fits perfectly to the wrist. The crown is in the middle position, which better highlights the overall image of the watch. Anniversary limited edition and commemorative logo are engraved on the bottom case, highlighting the Art Deco-inspired watch series, reminiscent of the Girard-Perregaux Bridges’ iconic arrow design.
Vintage 1945 Small Second 70th Anniversary Special Edition, gold and stainless steel case, 36.20 x 35.25 mm diameter, anti-reflective sapphire beige dial, hours and minutes display, small seconds display, mercerized polished case, engraved Vintage 1945 anniversary Celebration logo, fixed by four screws, waterproof 30 meters, GP03300-0051 automatic mechanical movement, power reserve 46 hours, black alligator leather strap, off-white stitching and stainless steel folding clasp.
The dial, like the case, has a double curved design, demonstrating the superb craftsmanship required to make this watch. The hour markers are Arabic numerals, the same as the original model, rose gold, small seconds at 6 o’clock, highlighting the symmetrical and balanced design. The toffee minute and hour hands are hand-carved and exquisitely crafted to complement the dial’s shape. The self-winding movement made by the factory makes this exquisite aesthetic design richer and more perfect. The movement GP03300-0051 shows the hours and minutes and the small seconds at 6 o’clock. Born in the Girard-Perregaux watch studio, it also follows the brand’s consistent watchmaking tradition, reliable quality and accurate timing. 46 hours power reserve, 4Hz frame rate, which means 28,800 vibrations per hour. It has a diameter of 25.60mm and a thickness of 4.20mm. It consists of 213 parts. Its external decoration combines the traditional Geneva ripples and round grain lines, mainly distributed on bridges, motherboards and pendulums. In order to make this commemorative model more perfect, Girard Perregaux has specially selected an elegant brown alligator leather strap with a folding buckle.

Who can surpass the Girard-Perregaux tourbillon classic movement and its symmetrical structure design project to celebrate the anniversary of the Vintage 1945 watch inspired by Art Deco? Few watchmaking designs have a long history comparable to the Sanjinqiao Tourbillon. In the 19th century, Constant Girard-Perregaux spent years researching and constructing various escapement systems, especially those with tourbillons. Years of research and development have led him to pay attention to the magnificent architectural design: redesigning the Three Arrows Bridge, carrying the moving parts of the movement, and matching them in parallel so that the barrel, gear and tourbillon are on the same bearing. This kind of design concept of him has completely got rid of stubbornness, and has become a new watchmaking concept: the movement no longer means only technology and performance, but also a perfect design project. The perseverance and innovation of the watchmaker from La Chaux-de-Fonds won the grand prize at the 1889 Paris World Expo, and the three golden bridge tourbillons won gold prizes.
Vintage 1945 – Three Golden Bridge Tourbillon 70th Anniversary Special Edition, 18K White Gold Case, 36.10 x 35.25 mm Diameter, Hour, Minute, Tourbillon with Small Second Hand, GP09600-0028 Mechanical Movement, Power Reserve 48 Hours, Mercerized The polished bottom case is engraved with the Vintage 1945 Anniversary logo, fixed by four screws, waterproof to 30 meters, and limited to 18 pieces.
Decades later, this movement still promoted the development of GP Girard-Perregaux watches to meet new market demands. The Sanjinqiao Tourbillon makes full use of classic architectural design projects, while maintaining excellent watchmaking and decoration standards. Three parallel arrow-shaped bridges give the movement a perfect balance, and the exterior structure complements the Vintage 1945 case. Selecting Art Deco’s most respected materials to make the watch highlights the advantages and personality of this chronograph.
The Sanjinqiao Tourbillon makes full use of classic architectural design projects, while maintaining excellent watchmaking and decoration standards. Three parallel arrow-shaped bridges give the movement a perfect balance, and the exterior structure complements the Vintage 1945 case.
Hand-polished, the craftsmanship of the watchmaker is very strict and requires great flexibility. The rose gold bridge is smoothed: it is chamfered to form a rounded shape, which forms a perfect arc compared to the overall length. The light will be reflected on the ‘mirror-polished’ surface, forming a light and shadow contrast with the matte treatment of the splint. At the same time, the tourbillon also needs to be treated with special care. The 80 components need to be properly combined in a space of 10mm in diameter. In order to maintain the vibration amplitude of the watch, Girard Perregaux chose an automatic winding movement, and a platinum micro-rotor was installed below the barrel. This original design not only maintains the integrity of the movement, but also gives it gorgeous architectural design projects.
Vintage 1945 – Three Golden Bridge Tourbillon 70th Anniversary Special Edition, 18K white gold case, 36.10 x 35.25 mm diameter, 120 baguette gems (~ 5.72 carats), including 112 rectangles on the case and bezel Precious stones (~ 5 carats), buckle set with 8 baguette stones (~ 0.72 carats), hours, minutes, tourbillon with small second hand, GP09600-0028 automatic mechanical movement, power reserve 48 hours, mercerized polished bottom case, engraved Vintage 1945 Anniversary Logo, fixed by four screws, waterproof to 30 meters, limited to 8 pieces.
The 70th Anniversary Special Edition comes in two limited editions. One limited edition was launched in 18 pieces in white gold; the other limited edition was launched in 8 pieces, also in platinum, but with 112 baguettes embedded in a geometric distribution, which prominently highlights the elegant lines of the square case. GP Girard-Perregaux chose the most complicated jewelry watch manufacturing process-invisible setting, side by side pavé, no metal is visible. The bottom case is satin-polished and engraved with the 70th anniversary logo of this series. Both limited editions feature a black alligator leather strap and a white gold folding clasp. The jewellery wrist style is embedded with eight baguette-shaped gemstones.

The side of the stainless steel case is polished with a brushing process to give the metal its unique sheen and texture.

The crown inherits the ‘onion crown’ of the large pilot’s watch, which is engraved with the ‘IWC’ brand logo. The exterior is decorated with non-slip texture, which has a first-class feel and is highly recognizable.

The black dial, with rhodium-plated hands and Arabic numerals, presents IWC’s signature aesthetics. At 3 o’clock, a date display window is provided to read the time information clearly and intuitively.
